CAIRO: After two days of detention, Qasr el-Nil prosecution accused the director of an online news network of fabricating videos detrimental to the military and police, Youm7 reported Thursday.
Director of Yqeen News Network Yehia Khalaf and another employee were arrested Tuesday after security forces broke into the network headquarters in downtown Cairo. The employee was released on the same day.
After a Thursday session with the prosecution, Khalaf was ordered detained for four days pending investigations. The charges include filming Muslim Brotherhood protests and sending them to pro-brotherhood channels abroad, fabricating anti-military videos and possessing “unlicensed editing devices.”
Khalaf’s seized laptop included videos that “incite against the military and police,” Youm7 reported Qasr el-Nil prosecution as saying.
