CAIRO: Cairo Criminal Court on Sunday has sentenced six defendants to death in absentia over torching the Ghad al-Thawra (Revolution’s Tomorrow) Party headquarters in Cairo in 2014, Youm7 reported.
They were sentenced to death also over accusations of attempted murder, show of force, arms possession and disrupting public order.
In March 2014, thirteen armed men reportedly broke in Ghad al-Thawra party headquarters in Talaat Harb Square in downtown Cairo, stole its contents and set it on fire, Youm7 reported.
They reportedly detained several party members, seized a number of documents, personal belongings and trophies before they have set fire to some of the headquarters equipments.
According to Youm7, one of the defendants has filmed the whole incident and uploaded it on a news website.
