CAIRO: A total of 1065 police cadets graduated Wednesday in a ceremony that was attended by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, according to a press statement by the Ministry of Interior.
A total of 97 cadets were from other countries; 48 from Palestine, 20 from Qatar and one from Comoros.
Several Police Academy students from lower grades have performed a number of martial arts during the ceremony which was held at the headquarters of the academy in New Cairo.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sisi said that “the responsibility of maintaining Egypt’s security and stability lies on the shoulders of policemen.”
Interior Minsiter Magdy Abdel Ghaffar praised the “police martyrs” and assured that the ministry will “never relent in proceeding with the patriotic path along with the armed forced in eliminating terrorism.”
Former President Adly Mansour, Pope Tawadros II and Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab were among the top figures who attended the ceremony.
