CAIRO: A scorching 5-day heat wave is expected to hit Egypt starting from Friday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced in a statement Thursday.
The average humidity will increase, causing mist in the early hours Friday, particularly in places near the coastal cities, the statement said.
The EMA warned against direct exposure to the sun rays for long time and advised the people to drink water and juices as much as possible.
The statement did not state the highest level of the temperature; however, it could reach 38 ᵒC in Cairo and 43 ᵒC in Upper Egypt in Friday.
