FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.: Republican and Democratic presidential candidates are being asked by one of the nation’s largest African-American civil rights organizations to offer a vision for saving America’s cities.

The National Urban League is meeting this week in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Republican Jeb Bush and Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton are among the presidential hopefuls scheduled to speak on Friday with the Urban League’s president and CEO, Marc Morial.

The conference marks the first time in the 2016 presidential race that Clinton and Bush are set to appear at the same event. The only other GOP presidential candidate scheduled to appear is its only black candidate, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

Two of Clinton’s rivals, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, also are on the schedule.
