CAIRO: At least 15 Zamalek football fans were injured Friday while celebrating the triumph of the club’s first Premier League title in 11 years, Health Ministry said in a statement.
“Twelve fans were transferred to nearby hospital of Imbaba while the remainder received treatments and first aid at the club. Most of them were injured due to Suffocation and stampede while trying to enter the pitch,” according to the statement.
On Tuesday, Zamalek officially won the Egyptian Premier League title following the 1-1draw of his traditional rival Al Ahly and Semouha club.
