CAIRO: “Former President Hosni Mubarak does not care about excluding his image from the New Suez Canal mural,” Mubarak’s lawyer Yousri Abdel-Razeq said Wednesday.
Several ceramic tile murals bearing images of Egypt’s presidents; Nasser, Sadat and Abdel Fatah al-Sisi were installed in Cairo’s main metro stations to mark the New Suez Canal inauguration ceremony scheduled for Thursday.
Mubarak’s supporters have voiced their anger over excluding his images from the murals.
Abdel-Razeqq told Youm7 that the administrative court last year has finally overruled a court verdict of lifting Mubarak’s name from public utilities, adding that he will file a complaint to rename Metro station and public utilities after Mubarak.
Following January 2011 Uprising, names of Mubarak and his wife were lifted from all public utilities.
