CAIRO: An upcoming summit between President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow is currently being prepared, Youm7 quoted Presidency Spokesperson Alaa Youssef as saying Friday.
Details about the summit or topics to be discussed during both leaders’ anticipated meeting was not revealed by Youssef. Egyptian-Russian relations have significantly boomed since Sisi assumed; both countries have announced cooperation on major projects and deals during the past months.
In February, Sisi and Putin announced in a Cairo press conference that Moscow will assist Cairo to construct Egypt’s first nuclear power plant, which will be located in the Mediterranean city of Dabaa. Both countries also reached a deal to establish a free trade zone in Egypt.
