CAIRO: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) extended its losing streak at the close of Thursday’s session, hurt by selling pressures from local institutions and retailers.
The benchmark index EGX30 lost 0.41 percent to end at 7,880 points, down from 7,912 points on Wednesday.
Similarly, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 decreased 0.45 percent to end at 441.22 points, compared to 443.22 points in the last session.
The broader index EGX100 also fell 0.49 percent to close at 921.35 points.
Market capitalization shed around 700 million EGP ($89.4 million,) totaling 484.9 billion EGP, compared to 485.6 billion EGP in the previous session.
