CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi launched the Presidential Leadership Program (PLP) Sunday, during the Universities Youth Week held in Suez Canal University from Sept. 11 to 17, according to a presidential press release.
During his keynote speech, Sisi said that the presidency has assigned the Specialized Council on Education and Scientific Research last March to prepare a professional training program to train youth for political and social participation.
“The program is under the auspices of the presidency and financed by ‘long live Egypt Fund;’ it aims to qualify about 2,500 young people yearly as a first phase to empower them to become future leaders,” added Sisi.
According to the program’s website, the participants will be exposed to “a completely new methodology and field for learning that revolves around balance in core modules, exposure to people and communication and learning through experiential teaching.”
The participants will be exposed to three stages in the program, through which their skills are to be developed and their knowledge is to be enriched; the stages are Politics and National Security, Public Administration and Entrepreneurship for Leadership, and Social Science and Governance.
The registration will be open on Sept. 20; the applicants will be pass through four steps: online application, assessment of application, Arabic and English written test and the last step is an interview with the panel, according to the website.
