CAIRO: Some 101 tons of rotten meat, poultry and fish were confiscated in a week during an inspection campaigns launched by the Cairo Veterinary Directorate, Youm7 reported Saturday.
The campaigns discovered 101 tons of meat, poultry and fish unsuitable for human consumption in a number of factories, warehouses, butchers, and frozen and fresh poultry shops in the capital in under a week.
An approximated 192 police reports were made with the confiscated products.
Muslims tends to buy meat as a main tradition in celebrating the feast of Eid al-Adha, which began late last week.
