EGX ends on mixed note, benchmark flat

CAIRO: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) shut on a mixed note Wednesday, amid sideways performance and thin liquidity.

Egypt’s benchmark index EGX30 was almost flat with only 0.02 percent up to hit at 7,332.9 points, compared to 7,332 points on Tuesday.

On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 decreased 0.26 percent to end at 388.4 points, compared to 389.4 points in its last session.

Meanwhile, the broader index EGX100 rose 0.39 percent to close at 844.6 points, after 841.33 points on Tuesday.

Market capitalization gained around 700 million EGP ($189.4 million,) totaling 448.7 billion EGP, compared to 448 billion EGP in the previous session.
