CAIRO: Two tons of rotten meat was confiscated at a famous restaurant in Haram district in Giza Monday and the case was referred to the prosecution, Youm7 reported.
The Giza Directorate of Veterinary Medicine had embarked on inspection campaigns in Haram and Giza, head of the directorate Ashraf Tawfiq told Youm7.
The name of the restaurant has not been revealed by the prosecution, but if the incident amounted to a lawsuit, the name would be disclosed.
On Sept. 26, some 101 tons of rotten meat, poultry and fish were confiscated in a week during a similar campaign by Cairo Directorate of Veterinary Medicine. Approximated 192 police reports were made with the confiscated products.
