CAIRO: Egypt will open the Rafah border crossing in one direction into Gaza Thursday for one day, announced the Palestinian embassy in Cairo Tuesday.
On Tuesday, 43 Palestinians arrived in Cairo Airport from different Arab, European and African countries to return to the strip, an official source at the airport told Youm7.
The source added that a wave of stranded Palestinians is expected to arrive until Thursday to go back to Gaza.
The crossing was closed last Thursday “until further notice” after being open for two days to allow Palestinian pilgrims returning from Mecca back into the Palestinian enclave.
The statement of the Palestinian embassy thanked the Egyptian authorities for “alleviating the suffering” in Gaza.
