CAIRO: The Egyptian Defense Minister Sedki Sobhi headed to Madrid Tuesday in an official three-day visit to bolster military cooperation with Spain, Youm7 reported.
Sobhi, who leads a high-level Egyptian military delegation, is scheduled to meet with Spain’s Defense Minister Pedro Morenés and discuss regional issues, ways to enhanced bilateral military and security cooperation as well as efforts to combat terrorism and restore security and stability in the Middle East.
Sobhi’s visit comes in response to an invitation by Morenés who had visited Egypt in May and had signed a military memorandum of understanding on joint military exercises.
During President’s Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s visit to Spain in April, Cairo and Madrid signed a security cooperation agreement that regulates bilateral cooperation in the field of security and combating crime.
