CAIRO: A team from the Egyptian Civil Aviation will head to Somalia to investigate an airplane’s crash landing, announced Civil Aviation Authority Chairperson Mhamoud al-Zanati Tuesday.
Tristar Air airplane, loaded with supplies for African Union peacekeeping forces, emergency landed outside Mogadishu Airport Monday evening due to technical problem, the Authority stated.
All six-member staff is in good condition; the cargo aircraft came from Onsted to Mogadishu.
In April, an Egyptian military aircraft crashed in the Mazar area in west; a technical failure was behind the crash of the pilotless aircraft.
Four military aircraft crew members, two Egyptians and two Emiratis, died after their craft crashed in December during a joint military exercise in Egypt, according to a statement from the Egyptian military.
