DURHAM: The man accused of killing three Muslim students in North Carolina earlier this year is set to appear in court.
Craig Stephen Hicks is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial hearing Monday.
The 46-year-old Hicks is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the Feb. 10 killings of 23-year-old Deah Shaddy Barakat; his wife, 21-year-old Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha; and her sister, 19-year-old Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha.
Prosecutors say Hicks has confessed to shooting the three unarmed victims over a long-running dispute involving parking spaces at the condominium complex near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hicks lived in the same building as dental student Barakat and his wife.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case.
