CAIRO: Groups of Egyptian activists staged Saturday two protests against ongoing Israeli attacks on Palestinians in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Outside the Cairo-based Journalists’ Syndicate, a group of activists demonstrated against the attacks, calling for continuing the Palestinian uprising against Israeli troops, Aswat Masryia reported Saturday.

“With rocks and knives, we will liberate Palestine…generation after generations repeat (that) we are hostile to Israel,” the protesters chanted.

Coincidently, a group of women in al-Tagamou political party staged a protest inside the party’s headquarters against the Israeli violations Saturday, Youm7 reported.

The protesting women raised Palestinian flags with graphics stating “Palestine is Arab,” and signs of “No to divide Jerusalem.”

The protest was scheduled to be take place in down town Talaat Harb Square, but it was canceled after protesters could not obtain a permit from the Ministry of Interior.

Since Oct. 1, confrontations broke out between Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and Israeli troops, leading to more than 30 Palestinians and seven Israelis killed. The confrontations began due to the Israeli forces and settlers’ violations to the Nobel Sanctuary and mutual stabbing attacks between both sides.

In Aug. 31, PLO negotiator Saeb Erekat accused Israel of trying, via its repeated violations; to divide the Nobel Sanctuary into two parts one for the Jewish and the other for the Muslims.
