CAIRO: Controversial Zamalek SC Chairman Mortada Mansour was referred to prosecution for assaulting a parliamentary candidate running against his son, the Head of Agouza and Dokki constituency Judge Nagy Shehata said Tuesday.
“Medhat El-Hennawy, a candidate running the parliamentary elections at the Agouza and Dokki constituency, has filed a legal complaint to the High Elections Committee (HEC) accusing Mansour of physically and verbally assaulting him at a polling station in Agouza district,” In a phone call with the CBC T.V. satellite channel.
Ahmed, Mansour’s, son is running for an independent seat representing the Dokki and Agouza constituency. Ahmed and Amr Al-Shoubaky, another candidate, were qualified for the runoff scheduled to be held Oct., 27 and 28.
Mansour denied the incident in a Thursday phone call with Al-Mehwar T.V. channel.
“I have submitted a legal complaint to the (HEC) against Shehata accusing him of filing a false legal complaint against me,” Mortada said.
