CAIRO: A total of 3,000 security personnel will secure Yanni’s concert at the foot of the Sphinx next to Amenhotep II Temple in Giza Oct. 30, an official source at the Interior Ministry told Youm7.
The forces will be deployed in the vicinity of the massive concert and at the entrances and exits of the archeological area of the pyramids, the source said.
The Ministry of Antiquities will benefit from the convert due to the relatively high price of the ticket, which amounts to 600-3,000 EGP, he added.
“The aim of the concert is to convey an image worthy of Egypt to the outside world, and send a message that the security situation is stable within the country,” head of the Giza Plateau antiquities department al-Hussein Abdel Baseer told Youm7.
The audience will attend the concert at the Sound and Light concert at the pyramids. The world-renowned Greek-American musician will perform the “Dream Concert” at 10 p.m.
