CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has embarked Monday on a three-country tour includes the UAE, India and Bahrain to bolster bilateral cooperation in various fields, Youm7 reported.

Presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef said the tour also aims to discuss ways to confront risks to the region including terrorism and extremist ideology.

The president has arrived in Abu Dhabi Tuesday morning, Youssef said, adding that “the visit comes within the context of continuous bilateral consultations and coordination between the two countries.”

From Abu Dhabi, Sisi will head to India where he will participate in the third India-Africa Forum Summit scheduled for Oct. 26-29 and hold talks with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Heads of states and governments of over 40 African countries are scheduled to participate in the summit.

From India, Sisi will visit Bahrain where he will meet with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to address new areas of cooperation in diplomatic, economic and security and discuss bilateral regional challenges and terrorism, Youssef said.

In late August, Sisi had visited Singapore, China and Indonesia to bolster bilateral cooperation in various fields.
