CAIRO: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) extended its losing streak for a second straight day at the close of Monday’s session, battered by selling pressures from local and Arab institutions.
The benchmark index EGX30 fell by 0.54 percent to end at 8,489 points, down from 8,535 points on Sunday.
Further, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 retreated 1.34 percent to end at 450.25 points, compared to 456.4 points in its last session. The broader index EGX100 slipped 0.91 percent, registering 950.4 points as well.
Market capitalization added around 1.6 billion EGP ($209.8 million,) totaling 490.1 billion EGP, up from billion 488.5 EGP Sunday.
