CAIRO: The Cairo Criminal Court adjourned Sunday to 29 June the trial of ousted President Mohamed Morsi and other 10 co-defendants on charges of spying for Qatar, Youm7 reported.
The court adjourned the case to continue examining the evidence.
The defendants face charges of leaking classified documents related to the national security and the army to Qatar.
On June 21, Morsi appeared in a session related to the same case wearing, for the first time, the red uniform reserved for prisoners sentenced to death penalty days after he was sentenced to death on charges including “murder” and “attempted murder” during a prison break from the Wadi al-Natroun prison in 2011.
Saturday’s session came as part of the fourth trial against Morsi since his ouster in July 2013. Morsi has already been sentenced to 20 years in the Ittihadeya presidential palace case, death in the Wadi al-Natroun jailbreak case and to life in jail over leaks to foreign powers including Hamas and Hezbollah.
