CAIRO: Attorney-General Hisham Barakat was injured and transferred to a hospital in Cairo after a bomb attack on his convoy injured at least three others Monday, spokesperson of the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar told ON TV.
A group that proclaims itself as “Giza Popular Resistance” claimed responsibility for the attack on its Facebook page. Meanwhile, ON TV reported that two members of security forces and a civilian were injured in the attack.
Youm7 reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Attorney-General himself was injured in the attack, which was perpetrated at Hegaz Square in Cairo’s upscale district of Heliopolis.
