CAIRO: Two people survived falling in front of the metro at Cairo University station Wednesday, sustaining mild injuries, Youm7 reported.
Yasmine, 20, reportedly lost her balance and fell on the tracks while the train was entering the station. A man fell on the rails while trying to help her.
The metro driver stopped the train before hitting both of them; both suffered mild injuries as a result of the fall. An ambulance transferred both of them to a hospital.
The spokesperson for Metro Company said that the metro movement at the station was halted for about 10 minutes after the incident.
Millions of Cairenes use the metro on daily basis at the cheap cost of one EGP ($0.13) for a ticket.
