CAIRO: Schneider Electric Egypt introduced its new low voltage switchgear for energy management “Smart Panel,” to present a new solution for energy needs in the Egyptian market, according to the company’s press release Wednesday.

“Smart Panel represents an integrated yet simple solution to monitor and control the electricity loads in administrative and industrial buildings,” said Country President of Schneider Electric Egypt and North East Africa Albert Fuchet.

The company hosted an event in New Cairo named “Intelligence Event” to launch its new product along with “a wide range of low voltage distribution solutions for intelligent power and motor control,” the release reads.

The Intelligence Event was attended by major investors, decision makers, top market consultants and Schneider Electric partners.

“We’re proud to be a key player in the Egyptian pivotal market that is expected to witness further growth and expansion during the upcoming period,” said Fuchet.

According to the release, the company allocates 5 percent of its revenues to create its innovative energy management solutions.

Egypt’s electricity sector has adopted plans to cover 20 percent of its energy needs from renewable sources by 2020, amid efforts to procure energy for running power plants.

Rolling blackouts in Egypt have become routine in the past few years, especially during the peak usage season in the summer, a crisis largely attributed to fuel shortages.
