Egypt’s scorching heat wave to continue till mid-August: EMA

CAIRO: The scorching heat wave, currently hit Egypt, is expected to continue till mid-August, spokesperson of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) Waheed Saudi said Tuesday.

“The weather will remain hot in the north of Egypt and very hot in many parts of the country especially Upper Egypt. The humidity rate will increases in some parts particularly the north […] the mist will remain in the early morning,” Saudi told Youm7.

Temperature could reach 37 ᵒC in Cairo and 45 ᵒC in the Upper Egypt on Wednesday, the EMA said in a statement Tuesday.

Egypt has been influenced by the Indian seasonal depression and has been hit by east and Northeast winds coming from the Arab Peninsula, he added.

The EMA warned against direct exposure to the sun rays for long time and advised the people to drink water and juices as much as possible.
