CAIRO: Global MasterCard and Visa have authorized E-Finance Company to issue e-cards for all banks and international financial institutions, members of both international organizations, through the company’s card issuance center.
The authorization is the fruit of e-Finance’s efforts to enter the international market with big share in the issuance, operating and implementation of smart cards, Ibrahim Sarhan, E. Finance Chairman said in a press release Tuesday.
“The center is to issue more than 4.5 million smart cards monthly using laser carving technology, considered the latest and most secure in this domain,” E-Finance Director of Smart Cards Sector Mahmoud Kamal said.
According to the center’s manager Ahmed Torky, authorizing e-Finance to issue cards for banks will save huge sums of money and hard currency that were spent to establish e-card issuance centers with low production rate and quality.
“The cards will be issued according to the latest techniques and in compliance with the international accreditation certificate of The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI,),” according to the press release.
