CAIRO: The Euromoney Egypt Conference is scheduled to kick off in Cairo Sept. 7, with a focus on “Financing the Future,” Euromoney Conferences’ Middle East Director, Victoria Behn, told reporters Tuesday.
Euromoney Conferences is a prominent organizer of large-scale financial events in the major financial capitals of the world and the Middle East, notably Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Turkey and Qatar.
During the two-day conference, interactive sessions with key government and private sector speakers will be held to discuss topics related to financing the future of Egypt, according to a press statement.
“This year’s event will discuss possible alternatives to raise the needed finance to bolster Egypt’s economy in the coming period,” Behn said in a press briefing held in Cairo Tuesday.
She added that the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC,) held in March in Sharm el-Sheikh, was a “fantastic success locally and globally.”
“Euromoney Egypt’s conference is particularly timely as Egypt’s investment promise is being turned into reality. We’re looking forward to seeing how the projects launched at EEDC are being realized,” Behn stated.
Keynote speakers and workshop participants will look into the best financing mix for the Suez Canal Axis Development projects and the surrounding industrial areas, she added.
They will also examine various energy and electricity projects through the Public Private Partnership system (PPP,) fields given top priority by the government as Egypt witnessed its worst energy shortfall in decades over the past few years.
Euromoney Chairman, Richard Ensor, will lead a panel with the country’s leading real estate developers and housing experts.
“The two-day Euromoney Egypt conference will …aim to bring global capital together with Egyptian opportunities to increase the flow of direct and portfolio investment into the Egyptian economy,” the statement read.
