CAIRO: Egypt’s Ministry of International Cooperation held a meeting Thursday to discuss the pre-final draft of the 2015-2019 Country Partnership Framework (CPF) between Egypt and the World Bank, Youm7 reported.

The CPF outlines the priority development sectors, programs and projects to be supplied with the technical and financial support from the WB’s different institutions, in the framework of the mutual cooperation between the Egyptian government and the WB Group.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of International Cooperation Naglaa el-Ahwany, Minister of Planning Ashraf Al-Arabi and Minister of Local Development Adel Labib, with a number of representatives for the ministries of investment, finance and housing.

From the WB side, WB Cairo office Director Asad Alam Eldin, International Finance Corporation (IFC) Regional Director Nada Shosha and representatives for the WB in Cairo attended the meeting.

The ministry is also to hold more meetings with the concerned ministries to unify the vision and agree on the projects to be implemented through the CPF.

“The CPF between Egypt and the WB Group adopts, during the next four years, achieving three main priorities; promoting governance, creating sustainable job opportunities through encouraging the private sector’s main role in growth and achieving the social justice that involves all classes of society,” Youm7 reported.

The three priorities will be achieved by the technical and financial support provided by the Bank’s different institutions to contribute to designing, financing and implementing medium and long term programs and projects.

In April, the WB decided to increase its investments in Egypt to $4.5 billion in the coming four years.
