CAIRO:The authorities in France, Germany and Austria rejected requested submitted by Muslim Brotherhood supporters to stage protests in front of the Egyptian embassies and consulates during voting in Egypt’s parliamentary elections, Youm7 reported Saturday.

A French police source said the request was rejected as it was submitted after the deadline set by the French authorities, according to Youm7.

An Egyptian expat, who spoke to Youm7 on condition of anonymity, said that pressure made by the Egyptian community in Austria was behind the rejection to grant the pro Muslim Brotherhood a permission to stage a demonstration in Graz, Austria’s second city.

The Muslim Brotherhood group had decided in April 2014 to transfer its base from London to Graz after British Prime Minister David Cameron announced a joint MI5 and MI6 investigation into its membership, sources told the Daily Mail.

The group is regarded as a terrorist organization by Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
