CAIRO: A number of ecohouses were inaugurated Monday at Cairo’s Al-Azhar Park by Minster of Urban Development Laila Iskander, displaying Danish models of environment friendly homes, Youm7 reported.
The project, organized by Cairo Lab for Urban Studies, Training and Environmental Research (CLUSTER,) includes houses that depend on renewable energy.
The exhibition aims to display architectural styles that use solar and wind energy to generate power, besides planting the roofs with trees that aim to reduce pollutions rates in crowded areas.
Al-Azhar Park is a popular recreational destination for Cairenes and people visiting from other governorates, providing a large green area in the crowded city.
