CAIRO: Security authorities have identified two of the three assailants who were killed Tuesday after explosive devices, placed in their private car, went off in the 6 October City southwest of Cairo, Youm7 reported.
The attack, which was one of several attacks hit governorates Tuesday, took place when explosive devices detonated inside their car while passing over a speed bump within the perimeter of a police station in the 6 October City.
Investigations revealed that the name of the first assailant was Mohamed Sami, 25, and that he lived in Cairo’s southern district of Haram while the second is called Mohamed Abdel Hamid, a graduate of the Institute of Architectural Engineering who lived in the 6 October City.
The identity of the third assailant has not been disclosed yet, a source at the Giza Security Directorate told Youm7.
The source said that the father of Abdel Hamid was arrested, in an anti-army and police march took place two months ago, in possession of 200 Molotov cocktails, two Benzene jerry cans and fireworks.
The investigations revealed that the car, used in the attack, belongs to the father of the first assailant Mohamed Sami. However, Sami’s father had escaped following the bomb attack before security forces stormed his house.
